The famous Hollywood actor will be the actor who will play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in a new adaptation of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel, which will be called The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
After several years, Stevenson's character will return to the big screen in what will be a faithful transposition of the literary work. The most celebrated of the film versions of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was the one filmed in 1931, starring fredric march (he won an Oscar for that work) and the 1941 one, with Spencer Tracey. One of the last film appearances was in forgettable The League of Extraordinary Knights, based on a comic that brought together several characters from classical literature.
The script will be in charge of Justin Haythe and although it is not confirmed, the filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn is the one with the best possibilities to take charge of production of the studies Universal.
From Universal they came out to clarify that Although Guillermo del Toro is also working on another version of the dark scientist, there will be a significant time gap between the respective premieres, thing of not stepping on in movie theaters.
